Summer sun

Went to a grade school swim meet today. I've figured out why Japanese people look 10 to 20 years younger than they actually are. In addition to being so thin, they hate the sun. They wear huge hats, carry umbrellas, wear pants and long sleeved shirts and towels aroud their necks, and complain that it is hot. You never see a woman in shorts unless they are down to her knees and even that is rare. And it is SO hot here. They're smart I guess, because they age much more gracefully than westerners. But I'm really looking forward to when I come home and I can dress the way I'm used to (shorts/tank top) without the strange looks and comments. Ugh.
